You can talk to a Canadian-licensed general practitioner by phone, video or text message. This telemedicine service can help you with minor medical needs, digital prescriptions, and more. After your consultation, you own your own health records too.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Support
You can talk to an expert about stress, anxiety or depression, or consult about legal matters, financial planning, career and life transitions by video, phone, or in person. If you face a crisis, you can get support 24/7/365. If you don’t like the provider you are matched with, there is no problem. You can unmatch yourself and choose a new one.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
To help you support your mental health you can access the online self-directed program for cognitive behavioural therapy to help.
What else should I know about Care Network counselling?
GMS Care Network is confidential, taking the utmost care to protect the identity of anyone who uses the platform.
With the app you can find frequently used features in the quick actions menu. You can manage all your account information easily. Under the Services tab you can access personalized and integrated telemedicine and mental health services.
Best of all, Care Network provides you with convenient and quick access to mental health support when you need it from the comfort of your home:
- each person covered under your plan can have 5 hours of counselling services every policy year, and there is an additional 5 hours of counselling for couples
- for more sessions, you can continue with the same counsellor and pay as you go, and you may be able to submit your receipt for reimbursement under your GMS health plan depending on your available benefit amount and provider eligibility
- if you already have a therapist/counsellor, a GMS Care Network Client Care Representative will be able to confirm if they are part of the network (if they aren’t, GMS would be happy to refer you to a professional who already is).
