How do PRISM plans help you have better health?
Starting in January 2025 all PRISM health insurance plans include GreenShield+, a unique digital health and benefits ecosystem that integrates the health services you need – telemedicine, pharmacy, chronic disease management and mental health services – with the benefits plan you select. Accessing health services
If you are like one in six Canadians and don’t have a family doctor or nurse practitioner, you have access to timely telemedicine appointments to address your health concerns. This can help you reduce unnecessary hospital visits by connecting you to healthcare professionals that often are able to resolve 92 percent of health concerns in the first appointment.
Supporting mental health
With your PRISM health and dental plan, you get access to GreenShield+ where personalized counselling appointments are available within 24 hours when you need mental health support. Using the therapist matching tool you can get just the assistance you need.
Integrating pharmacy
To make it easier for you to access and adhere to your prescription medications, your PRISM plan includes access to GreenShield Pharmacy.

PRISM delivers coverage and care, all in one place
SBIS’ exclusive PRISM individual health insurance plans give you access to products and services that may not be covered by your provincial plan, such as prescription drugs, dental care, and treatments by specialists, including psychologists, massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, physiotherapists, and more. If you only have health insurance coverage through your provincial plan, you may not be able to afford these additional treatments when you need them.
Understanding that everyone’s health care needs and finances are unique, PRISM offers you three programs to choose from – PRISM Continuum®, PRISM Precision® and PRISM Spectra®. Within each of these programs there are four different plans, each offering varying levels of coverage, so you can decide on the one that’s best for you.
Being able to choose the coverage that suits you and your family’s requirements ensures that you are not paying a higher premium than necessary or paying for coverage you don’t really want or need. The more basic your requirements, the lower your premiums will be.
Best of all, eight PRISM plans offer guaranteed acceptance – with no medical exam or questionnaire required regardless of your current health status – an important consideration if you have any pre-existing medical conditions. And Canadian residents up to age 80 are eligible to apply for coverage.

Which PRISM plan is right for you?
Choose PRISM Spectra if
- you and your family are in good health
- are looking for supplemental healthcare coverage with a full range of benefits and high benefit maximums (a medical questionnaire is required to qualify for this extensive coverage but even if you have an existing health issue, there may be a PRISM Spectra plan for you)
Choose PRISM Precision if
- you prefer guaranteed enrolment with no medical exam or questionnaire
- are looking to ‘top up’ your employer health benefits to fill in gaps or get more coverage through the wide array of coverage options from basic services to enhanced dental, including coverage for pre-existing conditions
Choose PRISM Continuum if
- you are losing your group benefits and want guaranteed coverage
- anyone under age 80 can apply – even those with pre-existing medical conditions– if you, your spouse, or dependents apply within 90 days of losing your/their company group health benefits.
